Application Process

To apply for housing, contact the Employee & Family Housing Office at (415) 405-4000 or via email at employee_housing@sfsu.edu. The Employee & Family Housing Office will:

  1. Send you a general questionnaire, rate sheet, and housing brochure.
  2. Extend an offer and provide an application and rough draft of the License Agreement if a desired unit is available. 

Once your application is complete, you will need to provide the required documentation and pay the fees listed below. The screening process will begin once all fees and documentation are received.

Fees:

  • An $85 application fee (per adult).
  • A $500 holding deposit to reserve unit.

THINGS TO KNOW

  • Once approved for housing, the primary applicant will be designated as head of household and will be the responsible party for all financial and policy related matters. 
  • Each person over the age of 18 in the household must fill out an application and pay the $85 application fee. No cash is accepted.  
  • Credit files and criminal history checks are obtained through RealPage/Onesite screening system.
